Suggestion for new section

How about a "Product Reviews" section. A thread can be started for each product reviewed - good or bad. Kinda like the eBay feedback thing. Builds up into a reference work of peoples experiences.

Can be anything from tyres to clothing maybe...

No, it should be nothing to do with dealers/sellers. Strictly a product review only.

For example,

An exhaust by Mywillie - look at country of origin, quality, finish, durability, ease of fitment. Price is set by the dealer usually so is no relevant. Maybe additions down the line as to how things like the chromework/finish are holding up.

It means that, when the section is well populated and you are thinking of buying something, you can look at how others have found it to be.

Bit like our own version of "Review Centre"

I like the idea of this "Product review" section... It could help a fair few people make up their minds on what to spend their hard earned cash on. However with any type of feed back review we would have to be careful for legal reasons and ensure people state when it's their opinion and when it's fact. If we get a couple more moderators on board then we would probably need one just to keep an eye on the section. But it's definitely one for the suggestion pot.

Could we do a newbee section? I know its all here somewhere, its just finding it all, very oftern the words used in the search are either not enough or you get hundreds of hits, very often the treads go off track. I was thinking "Definitive De-restricting", "Servicing" "Replacing Tyres" "Removing Wheels" "Changing Lightbulbs" "DC conversion" "Removing a Carb" "Changing this and that" and on and on, but all as seperate threads that once definitive are locked by admin unless a good change is agreed. I know its all there, but sometimes hard to find.

Just an idea, and saves the same old questions being asked by people like me lol

Yeah i agree with this, sounds like a good idea, similar to what Tony did for the front brakes in the Tech section, although the pictures have been removed from photobucket now.

Perhaps we could have a "how to" section where they are all sticky's and people can post up how to fix something or how they made something etc
