VESPA bit

Postby Tony » Tue Jul 16, 2013 11:39 pm

As per the poll.....cast your vote please.... :D

Basically we are voting on whether we should include a vespa specific part of our forum which would rival any VCB , modern vespa etc forum ....

It may surprise you what with me owning 2 Vespas that I have said no but my concern what be that you may just get the Vespa owners only joining up (like myself  ) and we would continually be arguing about what is the best PX or LML and to me this forum is the best out there with some great posters and I would hate to see it full of debate all the time.
And in all fairness the LML owners who own Vespas on here still get the help from you guys if something goes wrong with their Vespas anyway. (Not that they do to wrong because they are a Vespas ;) )

As much as it would be great for me personally to have a Vespa section that would be my concern.

But hey this is me so I'm probably talking crap

I think it would be good as Vespa owners may open their eyes too LML and find that they're great scoots ! Another way round it would be too have a section for all geared scooters help and advice , LML , lambretta,Vespa

Fair point Scunner and in theory it would be great and I'd love it to work but something just tells me we are going to see the same argument over and over again, the minute PX is mentioned now we see the same thing being thrown up already £1000 dearer blah blah blah.

But there is no harm in giving it a go I suppose, and whoever mentions the price etc gets a suspension
May aswell deactivate Phils account now

I vote no (and I own 2 vespas), this is due to us being a dedicated LML club. Nothing wrong with Vespa owners signing up and joining (to find out what they're missing ;) ) but I feel it would make a mockery of what we have achieved so far. Plus there are already a lot of Vespa forums out there already and it's not like there's a ban on vespa related questions in the technical sections.

If we're going down that route then we'd also need a Lammy section, a Bajaj section, a Gayer section, and any other scoot that's used for rallies, why stop at vespa? Heck let's just change the club name to "Scooter Owners Club of Great Britain". Just my opinion anyway.

Just read this and completely 100% agree, there's absolutely no need for a specific vespa related section.

Another valid reason not to have a completely dedicated section, can't think of any pros at the moment, just cons.

I think it's a good idea, there seem to be just as many vespa owners as there are lml owners on this forum these days.

It would be pretty ironic if the best vespa forum on the net was part of the lml owners club.

What would be the intention for the dedicated "Vespa bit"? It seems to me from reading a lot of threads just lately that much of the useful information in circulation is applicable to both LML and Vespa users. That is why the Vespa owners stick around I guess?

It would be a shame if the LML owners missed out on valuable threads because they were tucked away in the Vespa section, and vice-versa.

But what do I know - I don't even have a scooter!

I voted no, site is fine as it is and most questions get answered regardless of scoot make.

Ive seen this site linked and quoted on vespa sites, so we are world famous :D

Vespa sites in abundance, lmlocgb is unique, lets keep that way.

Valid points coming out from members ! Could it not be incorporated as other geared scooter section this would deflate the lml versus Vespa scenario , I believe it would be used mostly by existing members , peeps ain't gonna jump over because we have one section imo ! Strictly Vespa could cause friction within but I think it would be more like 2t-4t banter tbh ;)

I also have a LML and a Vespa and I voted No, with the similarities between LML and Vespa I dont see the point in it.
If there is a technical question, put it in the technical section and it will get a myriad of replies no matter what scooter it is for, Lambretta, Heinkel, Vespa etc...
