I know what the problem is with Juan Mata's transfer to Man U...... earlier today he got arrested for attempting a U turn on the M6.

I'm wondering if the Man U medical for incoming players includes a mental health / sanity check: I've just heard that Juan Mata thinks Man U can still win the title. That would raise concerns for me, tbh! :D

No shine of our win Tony!

I didnt see or hear of any trouble. The atmosphere was very much a party one before and after the game with both sets of fans on good form, with plenty of friendly banter going on.

If your referring to the two fans that ran onto the pitch they were St Johnstone fans not Dons!

However with around 17k fans I'm sure there would have been a couple of drunken idiots around and maybe the odd isolated drunken incident.

Anyway a Celtic fan saying a pity that any other Scottish fan base cant behave isn't that a bit pot calling the kettle black?

The Celtic fans bad behaviour has been well documented this season.

Main headline on BBC Sport "Lenon spat on and had coins thrown at him in the main stand at Tynecastle housing Aberdeen fans"

Typical BBC leading with this rather than Dons 1st final in 14 years.

Just had a read of the BBC report Roondie.

Says he left after 70 minutes. Probably saw all he wanted and git a bit of stick when leaving.

But typical of the media to focus on that rather than the great game with a great crowd I'm sure with relatively no trouble and the Dons in there first final for years!

I was in the Main Stand myself and wasn't aware that Lennon was there. But the Main Stand did have both sets of fans in there not purely all Aberdeen but mostly.

I don't condone coin throwing or spitting at anyone but you would have thought that Lennon with his own reputation would have had a little bit of an idea that he might get a bit of stick going to a game like that yesterday!

Sounds like it could be a bit of hype from the Celtic camp before the fast approaching Celtic v Dons cup game....

Yeh was referring to the fans around Lennon Keith, not in general. The reports suggest it started as soon as he sat down. Spat on, coins chucked, cups full of "tea". The stewards moved him to another seat but it continued. He then got moved closer to the touchline in the second half but left mid way through it.

Don't blame him really and I know that some of the celtic support don't behave either, just saying that it's particularly vile that dons fans seem to have taken it upon themselves to act like that and shame their club. And as you know, old firm fans can't do anything but it appears in the media ...as if no other clubs fans get out of order at times.

Lennon was as entitled to be there as anyone else, with his asst coach checking out the following weeks opposition. Hopefully there will be no carry on next week now :?

Hmmm,

OK Thanks.
I was starting to think this was a game independent of soccer.

Over here, football and soccer are very different games.....for example, today is our Superbowl.....the two best football teams from the two leagues will be playing for the champioship.

I despise both teams but will be going to the party......good food, a beer or two.

as I have always played rugby, I coined the phrase kissball to signify the prima donnas that play the game over here.
there were loads of kissball posts on here and it was frustrating for me to find they kept cropping up in innocuous named posts.
mr steve hippriest started this thread to save me ( and others) the pain of finding kissball posts all over the place.
I now check in just for the hope of a comedic gem or man u losing at home to Accrington Stanley

I texted a fellow Baggie at half time today saying, "only a miracle will save us now". And Lo! The Lord didst descend upon Kolo Toure, a humble toiler from the land of Canaan, and instruct him to fashion a verily brain-dead pass across the box straight to Sessignon, who didst bury it in the net. And the amassed throngs didst look upon his misfortune and didst decree that the Lord's work was done.
Praise be to the Lord! As per the Smethwick end song, "He is our Shepherd".

Think we may need a few more of those to stay up.

Shankley, just has a way with words. On Tom Finney
He would be brilliant in any team, any era even wearing an overcoat.

Are there any out there of a footie persuasion who don't by now think that Jose Mourinho is complete and absolute ar**hole? I read some comments of his on Wenger this morning that are so out of order I'm amazed he's not on a disrepute charge. As for all this "we are not really in the race" guff, it just sounds pathetic and I can't think of anyone buying it. I'm not a huge fan of Arsene "I didn't see the incident" Wenger, but he's the Dali Lama compared to Mourinho. I reckon he's noted Fergies' departure and thought, "you know, there's a real opening for King Footie Hate Figure here....better grab the opportunity". Apologies if there's any Chelsea fans on here (you've been quiet if so!)

Where have all the nice guys gone? The way of Tom Finney, sadly.
