Steve, good enough for me. Do you know LVG has less points than DM and not played any of the top 4 from last year and spent £200m. Are these managers any good when they are allowed to spend that kind of money on players. Im biazed of course but at least Brendan Rodgers and Arsene Wenger spend it on young talent and also bring players through, as do many of the other managers in the PM.

At 87 minutes last night I reflected on one of my favourite sayings for those who follow a modest team...."it's the hope that kills you". I was just allowing myself to think, "maybe, just maybe......" & my wife & son, in that naive way of footballing innocents, commented on how I was looking so anxious for someone whose team were beating Man U with minutes to go. I think they had a slightly better understanding a few minutes later! :(

Still, a good point when all was said & done and probably a fair result. Dunno about LVG yet - I think that, given time, he will prove the right man - though you'd have to say (not very originally) that his spending does seem to have been a bit attack-biased and I can't see them challenging Chelsea & City this year at least.....too much a work in progress. Having said that, the likes of Spurs, The Arse & Liverpool ain't hugely impressive yet awhile, so Euro placings are looking quite inviting for the likes of Laurie's lot.

Who's your team again?

.....and your verdict on Mr Balotelli? Didn't look too interested against QPR? Can't see it working meself, but that's more of a Balotelli thing in general rather than a LFC / Rodgers thing.

To be honest I thought it was a good signing, last chance saloon and all that, I don't think we will loose money on him and in todays football wages he's not on that much about a 1/4 of Looneys wages. You might find Berahino at LFC come January, because he knows he will get a chance and Borini at WBA.

I'm resigned to losing Berahino fairly soon after his last few performances - electric.

(better stop this kissball stuff soon or we'll be told off by the Rugger Buggers) ;)

Mass exodus in summer, Koeman in, 3rd in table.

Enough said.

I wish I had known you were a Saints fan at the start of the season.

Scousers 2 - 1 Saints

One of our easier games

Yea thats right - however you had to buy our team to do it!

I was so hoping that the reds were going to nick the title last year, even the neutrals were cheering them on, would have made a nice change.

I wish we hadn't, they've not done much.

I think the manager cost us the title last year, draw against Chelsea, win against Crystal Palace & Newcastle would have been enough, but no we have to go all out to beat Chelsea, who sit back and do nothing. Cheers for the support though.

Yea think the Saints had the best out of them really.

I though that 24m for Lallana was a tad ripe. Lovren is ok tho, he'll shaw up the back. Lambert will be a super sub goal grabber and neat at penalties.

I love watching Maurino sulk like a baby. Hes the one that everyone should target.

Lambert super sub he'll never be as he comes off the bench might as well go straight to the ref and grab the whistle and blow for full time..doesn't get any game time for me .hes wasted there.lallana is quality tho just in a sad team.lovren cannot do it all on his own.Johnson just ok going forward but never been able to defend.how he even got one England cap is shocking.

On the subject of famous Liverpool forwards, one of the first "stars" I saw in the flesh was Jimmy Case in a restaurant in Tenerife about 1982. I was so overcome just seeing someone of his (then) magnitude that I stopped at his table on the way out just to confirm it was him..... "Erm, excuse me, are you Jimmy Case?".

I'll never forget the disdainful sneer with which he confirmed this was the....erm...case - he almost spat out a simple "Yeah". Hmmmm, nice bloke (not).

Bet he's got a massive gut and runs a chip shop in Southport now. ;)

lallana & lovren will do alright. i think LFC payed £24m for henderson and he's turned out not bad. Is this the start for Balotelli, I think he's the first LFC player to be booed by his own fans, I never thought I would hear that at Anfield about any LFC player.

We won't talk about WBA.

Why not? I always do a little jig when we get knocked out of the M.Mouse Cup.....struggling Prem teams just don't need that shyte.....look what happened to Blues when they won it. They lost their next game at home to Albion and then rapidly sunk without trace, the latest debacle being an 8-0 home loss to the same Mighty Bournemouth who knocked our reserves out last night. Job's a good 'un if you ask me. :D

Do you think Rodgers fancies himself as a keen amateur psychiatrist who likes "challenging projects?" ;)
