Laurie - Hi Everyone!

Hello again everyone!

(Hopefully you’ll remember me) I used to post, help and advise along with admin support on here for many years. Obviously I got to know many of you and I’m still in contact with a few. Can’t believe how much has changed.

So where have I been and what have I been up to?

Ok it’s a bit of a long story, but I had to take a break away from everything for a couple of years. This was following the death of 4 close family members in 23 months. First it was my uncle, then my dear mum, then my Aunty and then all of a sudden out of the blue - an unexplained death of my cousin who was found deceased after a week from asphyxiation. (Coroner concluded it was an apnea related suffocation due to his size and I’ll health.) A bad time for me you could say.

Soon after, I had to undergo reconstruction surgery on my left ankle following a non scooter related accident at home. I now have a Titanium ankle bracket and pins holding me up. I had to have 14 months of physio and was in doubt of ever riding again .... but I was determined and I can now do it!

So ... my intentions. I’m currently viewing a couple of scooters but they want silly money for them. £4000 for a one year ole PX125 70th Anniversary model with 2.8k on the clock that needs minor body work! Nah! I’d rather get an older one that needs my “trade mark”.

My apologies for rattling on - only right to explain I feel. It is so good to see the familiar names again and hope that you are all well and still enjoying the scoots. Will post a pic as I go and I’m now going to troll through some of the posts to catch up.

Best wishes everybody and reply with how you’re doing etc.

Take care

Laurie

Hi Laurie, just checking back in myself. My red LML, with EB210 engine still going well.

Some of those prices are scary, far better putting your own mark down like you said.

Keep well, and shiny side up

All the best

Hello,

Still check in occasionally. My 2T is still faultless and I have a spare bashed up one that I might get around to converting to electric one day.

It's good to see an old face. Good that you're back after going through all that. Makes you realize how lucky we are and to make the most of life as you never know what's round the corner.

My recently acquired PX200.
1 owner, 34k miles, engine rebuild, new clutch plates, mudguard, stand and panels puffed over.
NOW ITS MY TURN! Stay tuned as it’s going to featured in Classic Scooterist Magazine!

Hi Laurie!

Wow!.... Sounds like you got hit from every corner......then the ankle rebuild.

Good to hear you have powered through it all......mental and physical.

Congrats on the new find....I hope you post up your progress.
