Postby blackrat » Sat Jan 30, 2016 5:12 pm

Well I went for it today and bought myself an LML 125 2T and I am grinning from ear to ear. I wont actually take possession for a few weeks but its mine!!Image

I just want to say that Carnaby Scooters were brilliant!

A wise investment indeed. My new (in 2006) paid for itself in the amount of fuel i saved over using the car in only 12 months! Cheers

Thanks Mikey,

I was looking at a dark blue with black saddle, a deep red (like mine) with a tan saddle and the bike I chose. A bloke came in and sat on mine and that' s how I made the choice 8-)

Yes a very good choice! An investment now too ..... read on!

LML are no longer importing 2T's into Europe. They can't get it through the EU4 emissions regs so yes ,,,, your scoot will ascend as long as you look after it.

Lovely colour scheme! Crying out for a screen!

Hi Laurie,

Hmmm, a screen? What sort do you think would work and look good? Can you post a link or two please?

A running-in/new bike question....

Bearing in mind I have had the bike de-restricted, do you think 45 miles is too far to travel for the very first ride on a brand new machine, from the shop to my house? Its about an hour and twenty minutes according to Google maps. Its mainly A roads with a couple of dual carriageways. Just to save you scrolling back up to the top it a Star 125 2T (derestricted). The other option is to have it delivered, I can't remember but I think it was getting on for £100 unless the van was coming this way anyway in which case it was about half that. I'm keen to ride it and get past the running in but what do you think?

45 miles is fine as a first run, but you shouldnt be running over 35mph or MAXIMUM 1/2throttle. Up and down speedwise so try and avoid dual carriageways and peak travelling times

Thanks Mikey!

Well missing peak hours is easy enough but staying off dual carriageways is probably impossible. 35mph/half throttle sounds like fun, I better take sandwiches and a flask :D
Is it worth stopping half way and let it cool off for a while? Or will it just get even hotter while it's standing with the fan off?

What fan would that be then? These are aircooled machines and unless you are running em on very hot days it will be fine

Probably the fan that's part of the flywheel that's running all the time the engine runs!

Sorry, yeah I was talking about the flywheel fan. I was worried with it being a new engine that stopping for 10-15 minutes on the journey might do more harm than good. I want to run it in as best I can so it doesn't seize on me one day.

So, picked it up today and already have 90km on the clock. The scoot didn't miss a beat and by the time I got home the gear changes were super slick. Feeling pretty pleased with myself :D
