2T ... Time is up!

Postby Laurie » Fri Feb 05, 2016 10:07 pm

This day was always going to come. I am literally crying as I write this! :(

Its been confirmed that the LML 2T will no longer be imported into Europe. EU4 emmission regs have seen it off and it looks as if LML are going to concentrate their talents on 4t's and Autos in various displacements.

Piaggio have also confirmed that the PX in its current 2T displacement will also discontinue. They have 998 units left and they have been told that they can register a mere 10% of them over the next year. Then its all done and dusted as the guillotine comes down.
Piaggio have confirmed that they are currently looking at creating a 4T version PX but I am not too confident over this ... I just cant see them taking on LML again when all their top profits come from their plastic sh1t.

What a sad day this is for all of us. I am tempted to nab one more PX but if its anything like my last one I may just buy an engine when they sell them off.

Guys, this year will fly by and the last PX's will soon disappear from the shelves so if you want one - get one and quick because Italy will no doubt keep the last of the units for themselves. :x :x :x

Distraught Laurie :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

It's not just the emissions, the guy that deals with all the importations for Moto GB posted about this a while back on the facebook group. All bikes over 125 cc will also need to have either ABS or linked brakes.

To be honest I can't see Piaggio funnelling a load of money into designing the PX to make a 4t. The numbers of PX's they sell compared to all their other models are minuscule.

The the LML 4ts are cracking scoots especially the 200.

Still don't understand why Paggio have never put an auto engine in the PX.... would sell by th bucket load imo.... surely they could develop a 200 or even bigger engine for it that would fit.... their loss at the end of the day, that's why I bought my 200 4T.... and I love it... :P

A quirky little bunch of enthusiasts in the UK mean very little to Piagio or LML their markets are elsewhere . I prefer 2ts I have 2 running scoots and a bunch of spares that will see me out . Enough bits and bobs knocking about to keep most of us happy for years to come .
