Postby NICK » Wed Apr 13, 2016 7:19 pm

No not one of my dvd's, picked scooter up from work (been laid up since June due to house move),fired up on 3rd kick, opened throttle and cable snapped. No prob's I thought, fit a new inner quick....................hour and half later, one fucked inner and outer cable with the outer jammed inside frame! Scooter now sitting in naughty corner of shed.Looking like tank out and handlebars off job.Bollocks.

Nick, is the cable visible if you take off the horn casting? I know it is on Lams but don't know about LMLs...

My guru vespa mate used to gaff a tape two cables together, side by side and always have a spare in the frame, lots of patience and grease needed. I just hoped I would not have to do a cable change! Rob

All done Shaun. Your fault as I don't get to ride over to Spewquay for a pint with you nowadays. 3 hrs this art and a can of Abbot Ale per hour sorted it. Road test imminent. Cheers

Replace the whole cable (inner/outer) with a nice new Venhill version.

Nice cables, expensive and friction free but welll worth the extra.
