Centre Stand- How to?

Postby Lusciousthelock » Fri May 06, 2016 12:52 pm

This may be a silly question, but how do you put the LML on it's centre stand? On other bikes I've owned you normally step on the stand whilst lifting with a handle on the rear. I went to fill up with petrol for the first time today and couldn't fathom it out. It was idling, so I put my foot down on the stand and tried lifting by the handlebars since I have to rear rack to grab onto- Crunch, dropped into gear and nearly took off! Next time I will switch the engine off first!

Im used to foot on, yank back too haha

stand to the left (dont pull clutch in)
left hand on left handlebar, right hand cupping under the front of the seat,
put the bike totally upright (square) and tap the foot bar down with your right foot,

Then hold that bar down with your right foot and slowly pull back with mostly the right hand. :)
The scoot will roll back onto its centre stand :)

Okay, I will try that method. I hope it doesn't put too much strain on the seat. I remember doing something similar on an old CG125 and the seat fell apart in my hands haha.

I use the strap across the centre of the dual seat

After much practice today, I just grab the back of the seat by the lock and use that as a grab handle. I did try by that leather strap in the centre of the seat but I don't think it would last long, actually It looked like it stretched when I tried it!
