Last Run Scooters 150 crankcases

Postby Bowcastle » Mon Aug 01, 2016 8:36 pm

I got round to fitting the LML 150 kit and very surprised to see the larger 150 ports in the crankcase not the smaller 125 ports as LML supposedly stopped making the bigger port engine in 2010 I think..? :o
Heres a pic of the small port 125 casing next to the 150 (taken by Tasso I believe)...

and this is mine ...

So should get maximum benefit from the 150 upgrade

It sounds like the 'last run' machines were made using what bits were laying around. I bet some of them have the smaller ports, youre lucky !

Holy cow! I want to look at mine now. I was thinking of the DR kit simply due to the small ports. Guess its worth taking a look before I decide which way to go.
Always suspected these were old stock motor's :D

It could be an Indians sense of humour by sticking the proverbial 2 fingers up to the EU! Which, begs the question,if we are leaving the EU, could we not import the 2t again?!

The 2 stroke banning thing was loved by the UK government. Look whats happening in London for older motorcycles in the next few years. We will still follow all the Euro rules as its just a simple standardisation to follow throughout europe. We may get away with some smaller legislation in the future but anything involving the Environment will certainly follow.

I just came back from italy, like england, the locals dont know about two stroke bans and being italian won't follow it anyway. Plenty of old two stroke vespa chugging around, as well as ape three wheelers. But the italians dont regard the vespa as anything worth saving, it was just cheap transport.
At least we can argue in england that before they start on vespas, they need to sort out lorries, buses and diesel cars which pump out more harmful emissions than modern two stroke oils. Most new diesels are now polluting after the dodgy tests were discovered.
The british government have always protected historic vehicles! My mot on my lambretta was a joke as it was so old it did not need modern brakes, and no road tax or emissions!Their are no emission controls on most historic vehicles, apart from basic deadly readings compared to modern cars.
With our unique history with the scooter I think we can kick up enough to protect the lambretta and vespa.

I know what you mean, but this is just the centre of London by the London Mayor. However it makes you wonder where would apply next! What euro standards are the newer scoots from 09 to date, i have an 09 large ports, i believed it was euro 2.
