front shock options

can an older shrouded vespa front shock be fitted ok in place of the lml exposed spring version without interfering with disc and caliper when suspension compressed ? tks

good question i have some red vespa ones that could go on but still attached to other scooter at mo ,wouldnt want to take off in couldnt do,,same fixings for the rear shock?
and god made eve from adam rib...and adam couldnt help but wonder what he might of got for an arm and a leg?

see you can get Sebac replica adjustable ones now for about £30 a pop.Can't comment on the quality or fitment though.Beans or peas?Nick

Ricalnic,

Hi mate,

The EFL front shock (with the covered spring) of the Vespa PX range WILL fit our LML's. I know that Taffpeeed sell these and they now feature uprated springs giving the shock 70% more stiffness.I had them on my PX and they were brilliant. They made the scooter handle really well and the traction was really great through corners!

I believe that they are around £50 for the front. I wouldn't bother with the rear as the LML one is slightly longer any road.

Just passing, and looking at some old posts.

As per Laurie’s comments, that was exactly what I did, got a Taffspeed uprated front spring and added it to the standard shock. This transformed the handling, especially under braking. Shock still fitted 8yrs on
