Hi is it worth unbolting rear shock to remove cylinder or double nut the studs and risk stripping them thanks

For me... Double nut the stubs, then replace them with Piaggio ones.

Depends on the size of the cylinder for me. 177 cylinders seem to catch on the bodywork preventing them from lowering onto the case. The 150 does clear using stud removal, but you risk breaking a ring as you manoeuvre it.
