LML 125 2t Disc conversion upgrade

Postby Nearly60 » Fri Aug 25, 2017 9:16 pm

My 2002 125 2t has a front drum brake that I would like to upgrade to disc.
What parts are required and can Vespa items be used?

Cheers
Willaim

You will need headset base, with mountings and holes for disc cable. Headset top for disc, hydraulic fluid holder and front mudgaurd with disc hole. You might as well change the headstock race bearing at the same time. You would be better using lml as I can't remember if they use the 20 mm stub. Which is like an old Vespa. The hydraulic cable runs inside the forks. Beedspeed did complete lml forks and disc for £300, not cheap but miles cheaper than piaggio. I have the lml drum with disc, best of both worlds. Later lml have the piaggio type spoked wheel and disc.

Rob b thanks for your reply. When you say you have"the lml drum with disc, best of both worlds." Could you explain how that works please?

Yes, I have the same set up as the Vespa \lml on my headstock, but the front is a hub with the disc behind. So the front wheel looks like yours, with a disc behind it. It was lml solution to fitting a disc, before the Vespa style spoke wheel.
