Glue removal

Hiya peeps,

I've bought some black stripes for my side panels and have removed the Star decals from this location. I used a heat gun to remove the badges- was hoping they would come off complete but being made of rubber are too stretched now and had to bin them. Anyhow, what's best for removing the faint outline of the glue? I've used WD-40 before but I'm sure last time I tackled something like this it wouldn't touch it.

The area will of course be covered by a vinyl stripe, but I would like it to be right before covering.

Ah, sorted this myself.

I was sitting here, in my garage drinking a nice cup of tea and then it hit me. Petrol! Dipped a nice clean rag in my fuel tank and one wipe later- Hey Presto!!!

Now my Garage and kitchen stink of petrol, wife's gonna kill me when she wakes up but hey small price to pay and all that :D

Sounds like that's done the job then! For really tough spots I've found that these toffee wheels do a swift and easy job - attach to your drill and away you go:
