Frequently a manufacturer will not directly cover warranty costs, mainly smaller manufacturers - possibly because an additional level of infrastructure is required to process claims, frame number, end user, service history etc.
Instead they wish to leave this to the importer to 'manage' and offer an over-riding discount instead, usually 2-5% from the cost price (smaller manufacturers simply put two extra machines into the container to cover warranty claims!).
So if a manufacturer buys 1,000 machines at $1,000 then he could have a discount of $50,000 to cover warranty claims AGAINST THOSE UNITS, not past or future!
EP Barrus have had all their discount and now that they don't have the brand THEY WANT TO KEEP THE DISCOUNT!
Now in fairness the real culprit may be LML Italia who may have swallowed the discount and also not pass it on to Barrus - but really that should not be a burden for MotoGB - the responsibility is firmly at the front door of EP Barrus and Ian Cordes their Warranty Manager (failing that, Alex Callan - Sales Manager who may have misrepresented the warranty arrangements - sorry Ian and Alex but your cavalier attitude is sticking in my gullet right now !!!).
As I have said before and so many times, we will not see an end user suffer the parts cost (unless it is wear and tear or negligence etc)
Please Guys (and Gals) give us a break, we are NOT the bad guys here!
